Kuna Superintendent Kim Bekkedahl

Kim Bekkedahl was appointed to serve as superintendent for the Kuna School District 2024-25 school year. She previously was the district's assistant superintendent for nine years.
About Superintendent Bekkedahl
Kim has 40 years of serving in public education.
Kim is a native of Williston, N.D. She graduated from University of North Dakota-Williston, where she was on the track team and was named most valuable member of the team her sophomore year.
Kim attended Concordia College where she was on the women’s golf team and graduated with a K-12 physical education degree and a biology minor.
Kim taught Physical Education and Health at Williston High School for 15 years and was a counselor designate at WHS. Throughout her time at WHS, she worked with students in the Mercy Mental Health Unit and Mercy Recovery Center. She earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from NDSU in 2000.
Kim and her family moved to Idaho in the summer of 2000, where she was the principal at South Middle School in the Nampa School District for five years and then became the principal at NSD's Skyview High School for 10 years.
Under Kim’s leadership, Skyview High School became one of the highest performing schools in the state receiving a number of notable academic awards including Distinguished School in 2011, IHSSA Exemplary Achievement Award 2012 and 2013, a Four-Star School rating and Advanced Placement Honor Roll.
Kim was named the Idaho Education Association's Region 8 outstanding Principal of the Year in 2013-2014. She was inducted into the Skyview High School Athletic Hall of fame for Distinguished Service in 2018-2019.
She received her Ed Specialist Degree from Boise State University in 2015.
Kim joined the Kuna School District nine years ago as Assistant Superintendent.
She was awarded the Assistant Superintendent of the Year for the State of Idaho by the Idaho Schools Superintendent’s Association for 2023. And in the fall of 2023 Kim was named the Outstanding Alumni of the Year from Williston High School. Outside of school, Kim is the Board Chair for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Kim and her colleague are endorsed by the Governor of Idaho for their prevention and awareness work around fentanyl and illicit drug use and mental health.
Kim and her husband Mark have three married children and 4 grandchildren.
