Basketball Highlights

The 8th-grade boys worked hard on rebounding and were aggressive in their face defense.   A 15-point halftime lead was extended as the boys scored a season-high 74 points on their way to a 74-44 win over Lone Star.  Keanu led all scorers with 31 points while Lino led all players with 10 rebounds, followed by Ricky with 7. 

The 8th grade boys B basketball team started out slow against a much bigger Lone Star team last night.  After the first quarter, FMS was behind 2 to 0.  Even though we were a much shorter team, we played great defense and consistently out rebounded them.  We started scoring and held them scoreless in the 2nd quarter to lead 9 to 2 at halftime.   We continued playing well in the second half to end up with a 31 to 8 win.    Please congratulate your FMS B team basketball team when you see them.  Great job!!

Today is Groundhog Day!  

What is the meaning behind Groundhog Day?

It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow due to clear weather, it will retreat to its den, and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow because of cloudiness, spring will arrive early.

Basketball Highlights

The 8th grade boys B basketball team played a very tough East Valley team yesterday.  The score was close the entire game with Ricky R leading the team in scoring with 11 points and very balanced scoring from the rest of the team.  Final score: Fremont 43 East Valley 34.  Great win boys!

Last night, the 8th grade boys basketball C team went to East Valley. We started the game off strong by scoring off the tip. The points were back and forth until half time, when we took the lead with a deep 3 pointer by Mason. This lead fired up the team and we finished strong with a victory of 34-31. Go Hawks!

7th grade A & B teams both lost yesterday.  They are working hard and learning how to play as a team.  Keep up the hard work
